Example: World Timeline
Five centuries of a realm's history laid out as eras and dated events, from a forged crown to a contested throne. This is what Time & Events looks like once a world has a past.
Eras Frame the Age
Three eras carry the realm from founding to schism to reign, each with its own color.
- Age of Founding
- The Long Schism
- Age of Reign
Events Carry the Dates
Each turning point is a dated event you can read in order.
- A crown forged, an oath sworn
- An oath broken, a keep besieged
- A throne finally claimed
Participants and Calendar
Events name who was there, and dates read on the realm's own calendar.
- Participants like Queen Sariel
- Roles such as commander
- Years in the Age of Reign
Read it like a historian
The same events power more than a list.
- Set Story Now and your relationship map re-weaves to that year.
- Save the era and event vocabulary as an event pack for the next world.
- Pair it with Map Replay to see how you built the map itself.
Steps
- Define your eras and give each one a color.
- Add an event per turning point, with its year and a short summary.
- Tag participants and assign their roles.
- Set your calendar so every date formats the same way.
Tips
- Start with the big eras, then drop events into them.
- Use event tags to filter a busy timeline down to one thread.
- Set Story Now to the latest event to see the world as it stands now.
